GovCIO is seeking a Data Scientist to support VA data modernization initiatives, with a fully remote role within the United States.

The position requires strong Python and SQL skills, 2+ years on Databricks/Azure/AWS/GCP, and experience in end-to-end data science workflows, ML tooling, and LLMs. Clearance for suitability/public trust is required. GovCIO offers a broad perks program and equal opportunity employment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems, Business or related field.
• 15+ years experience or commensurate experience.
• Proficient in Python and advanced SQL.
• 2+ years’ experience on cloud platforms (Databricks, Azure, AWS, GCP).
• Experience in end-to-end data science workflow and tooling (NumPy, SciPy, MLFlow).
• Knowledge of traditional ML toolboxes and large language models (LLMs).
• Ability to obtain and maintain suitability/public trust clearance.

Responsibilities

• Consult with internal clients and build data products/workflows to support critical operations.
• Migrate and modernize clients’ workloads to the cloud to realize improvements.
• Spearhead AI adoption with clients to drive business outcomes.
• Create reference use cases with tutorials and training to drive cloud tooling adoption.
• Host office hours to upskill clients.
• Develop, train, and deploy machine learning to solve business problems.
