Job summary

Muttdata, a remote-first data products and machine learning startup, seeks a Data Engineer to build scalable data infrastructure and ML-ready pipelines for multinational client projects. You will design batch and streaming pipelines, mentor teammates, and drive data quality across products.

You will collaborate with teams to leverage Databricks, Python, and Spark, delivering impactful data solutions in a fast-paced remote environment with diverse clients.

Qualifications

• Experience building and optimizing data pipelines.
• Experience with Databricks, Python and Spark for batch and streaming.
• Familiarity with Looker or Tableau BI tools.

Responsibilities

• Co-develops batch and streaming pipelines, semantic models, and transformations on Databricks (Python/Spark).
• Defines and maintains data contracts, quality rules, and data SLOs for each data product.
• Guides domain teams on data modeling and data product boundaries (what belongs to which product/domain).
• Trains, mentors and pairs with domain engineers/analysts on data product ownership and good engineering practices.
• Captures feedback and best practices from domains and feeds improvements back into platform templates, tooling, and patterns.
