Job summary

Dandy is hiring a hands-on Senior Data Engineer to join our data infrastructure team. You will design, build, and operate ingestion pipelines and the data warehouse powering Looker and Hex, supporting Sales, Marketing, Finance, and ML initiatives.

The role is remote-based in Ontario, Canada, with opportunities to shape data governance, quality, and AI-ready data products, turning raw data into trusted, self-serve insights for the entire company.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in data engineering or analytics roles in startups.
• Experience building ingestion pipelines and transformations (dbt) in production.
• Expert SQL; proficient Python for tooling.
• Hands-on with Looker/Hex/dbt and BI tooling.
• Ability to collaborate across teams to define platform decisions.
• Proven track record standing up new data engineering processes.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate data ingestion pipelines and connectors.
• Own core platform components like dbt models and semantic layer.
• Collaborate with Finance, GTM, Manufacturing, and ML teams to translate needs into data products.
• Support AI/agent-enabled workflows with governed data access and safety at scale.
