Job summary

Raymond James is seeking a Tax Senior Accountant to act as a corporate tax generalist, handling state tax compliance, audits, and related filings. The role also covers ASC 740 provisions, tax research, and cross-functional collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

The position involves leading defined projects, mentoring colleagues, and coordinating on technology improvement initiatives. Occasional travel to corporate HQ is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years’ experience in tax accounting and compliance.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• Master’s Degree in Accounting or Tax preferred.
• Any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training approved by HR.

Responsibilities

• Assist with state audit requests and coordinate with state auditors on moderate to complex tax issues.
• Assist with technology improvement processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Research IRS and state regulations and interpretations.
• Research tax ramifications of moderately complex transactions.
• Prepare and review work papers, calculations, and forms for Federal and state tax compliance.
• Review Federal and state income tax returns, including consolidated/combined returns.
• Supervise, review and analyze state apportionment and allocation work papers.
• Review annual tax return extensions and quarterly estimated payment calculations.
• Respond to notices from Federal, state and local jurisdictions.
• Analyze ASC 740/ASC 740-10 regs and prepare income tax provision and disclosures.
