Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Compliance Officer for a financial services client on a fully remote basis. You will develop and oversee compliance programs to meet SA laws, AML/KYC requirements, and data privacy standards, collaborating with internal teams and external regulators.

You will conduct risk assessments, investigations, and regulatory examinations, design training programs, and promote ethical conduct across the organization in a remote work setting.

Qualifications

• Law degree or Master's degree in a related field.
• 8+ years in compliance, legal, or regulatory affairs within the financial services industry.
• In-depth knowledge of South African financial regulations, including FICA, POPIA, and relevant banking laws.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing compliance programs and policies.
• Excellent analytical, investigative, and reporting skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, crucial for effective remote collaboration and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage the company's comprehensive compliance framework and policies.
• Conduct regular compliance risk assessments and audits to identify potential areas of non-compliance.
• Ensure adherence to all applicable financial regulations, including AML, KYC, and data privacy laws.
