Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Lead Cloud Solutions Architect in a remote-capable role. You will partner with business stakeholders to identify opportunities, develop scalable cloud strategies, and guide large-scale solutions from discovery through deployment and transition.

The role requires extensive cloud expertise (Azure and AWS), strong leadership, and the ability to drive outcomes across delivery teams while optimizing cost, risk, and long-term supportability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• 8 years of related experience.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical advisor and trusted partner for business stakeholders.
• Lead client engagement activities, including solution discovery, requirements gathering, workshops, and business case development.
• Translate business needs into scalable tech solutions aligned with goals.
• Support full solution lifecycle from implementation to operational transition.
• Develop solution strategies, roadmaps, and delivery plans for cloud, apps, and tech.
• Lead complex engagements from concept to deployment and transition.
• Collaborate with leaders, vendors, and delivery teams for successful outcomes.
• Provide leadership to Solution Architects and delivery teams throughout lifecycle.
• Evaluate options and recommend cost-effective, sustainable solutions.
• Identify risks and mitigation strategies for delivery success.
• Lead vendor evaluations and PoC activities to support decisions.
• Work with Cloud Center of Excellence to leverage platform services.
