Job summary

LTS is seeking a Senior Applied AI Engineer to advance AI capabilities across an enterprise platform used to modernize critical healthcare systems. You will experiment with LLMs, optimize retrieval, and drive production-ready AI features in a remote United States setting.

You will work with an engineering team focused on transparency, explainability, and robust knowledge management, delivering scalable AI solutions for federal-grade environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, AI, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, prototype, and implement production-ready AI capabilities to improve reasoning, explainability, and developer productivity.
• Evaluate emerging LLMs, multimodal models, agent frameworks, and AI techniques to identify opportunities for platform advancement.
• Rapidly prototype new AI capabilities and transition successful experiments into production.
• Improve autonomous and multi-agent workflows through prompt engineering, memory strategies, and tool selection.
• Continuously refine RAG pipelines, embeddings, reranking, and grounding techniques.
• Develop evaluation frameworks measuring accuracy, groundedness, latency, and overall AI effectiveness.
• Collaborate with engineers to improve knowledge ingestion, document processing, semantic search, and enterprise knowledge management.
• Design approaches to maximize retrieval quality across large technical documentation and source code repositories.
