Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Senior API Automation Engineer (AWS & AI Testing) to design scalable API automation solutions for cloud-native applications. You will work with the Quality Engineering team and collaborate with developers, architects, and business stakeholders to ensure high-quality software delivery.

The role emphasizes AI-assisted test generation, API contract validation, and CI/CD integration within AWS-based environments.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in quality engineering or software testing with strong API automation
• Advanced experience building API automation frameworks with Java, Rest Assured, TestNG, Maven and Postman
• Strong knowledge of REST APIs, microservices, JSON/XML validation, OAuth and JWT
• Experience integrating tests with Git, Jenkins/GitHub Actions, Docker and CI/CD pipelines

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable API automation frameworks
• Automate REST API validation across integration, regression, and end-to-end testing
• Apply AI agents and generative AI tools to assist test generation and self-healing automation
• Validate API contracts, JSON/XML schemas, and auth mechanisms
• Integrate automated tests with CI/CD pipelines and AWS cloud-native apps
