Job summary

Speechify is seeking a Senior Android Engineer to own major features and collaborate with design to deliver high-quality user experiences. You will shape the Android team's future, maintain reliability metrics, and drive cross-team discussions with Product and Engineering.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of software experience, Kotlin expertise, and a strong focus on tests and UI/UX. This is a 100% remote role with strong growth and impact opportunities.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Familiarity with Android components.
• Experience building or contributing to at least one Android app.
• Product design intuition and user empathy.
• Drive to push the boundaries of Android UI/UX.
• Understanding of tests and how to write them.
• Self-drive to improve the app and codebase beyond the spec.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Own major features and deliver high quality Android features.
• Shape the future of the Android team.
• Maintain and improve reliability metrics for key features.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Engineering.
• Review pull requests and support teammates.
• Handle critical issues and unexpected challenges.
• Own feature releases and provide nightly builds for QA.
