Job summary

Intone Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with deep AI systems expertise for a 12-month remote contract in the United States.

You will apply extensive software engineering experience to develop AI-powered systems leveraging large language models and enterprise AI delivery. You will build against modern LLM APIs, design agentic systems, and optimize RAG architectures with vector stores and embedding pipelines.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience
• 2+ years of AI engineering or enterprise AI solution delivery experience
• Hands-on experience building against modern LLM APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Azure OpenAI, Google)
• Experience building agentic systems with one or more frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, Semantic Kernel, Microsoft Agent Framework, or equivalent patterns
• Proficiency in Python, including async patterns, API clients, data processing, and testing
• Experience with RAG architectures, vector stores, embedding pipelines, and retrieval strategies
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, production-grade code with test coverage

Responsibilities

• Build and integrate applications against modern LLM APIs, including completions, embeddings, tool/function calling, and structured outputs
• Design and implement agentic systems with tool use, memory management, and orchestration capabilities
• Architect and optimize retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems, including vector store integration, embedding pipelines, and retrieval strategies
• Write clean, maintainable, production-grade code with comprehensive test coverage
• Mentor and collaborate effectively with distributed team members
