Job summary

System One is seeking a Technical Risk Analyst to join our Security Second Line of Defense. The contractor will provide independent oversight, challenge risk descriptions, and govern issue lifecycles across information security programs.

The role emphasizes evaluating remediation effectiveness, identifying systemic weaknesses, and guiding control applicability per NIST/FFIEC/GRC frameworks, with collaboration across IT, risk, and business stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience with regulatory frameworks and risk assessments.
• Knowledge of NCUA/FFIEC/NIST CSF and 800-series controls is a plus.
• Understanding the Three Lines of Defense model and SOD responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform independent review and challenge security issues to ensure completeness, accuracy, and alignment with issue management requirements.
• Evaluate issue descriptions for criteria, condition, cause, consequence, and risk articulation.
• Interpret Information Security Standards and provide governance guidance regarding control applicability.
• Provide effective challenge to Issue Owners when risks are not sufficiently addressed.
• Identify emerging risks, recurring themes, and systemic control weaknesses requiring leadership attention.
• Review and challenge corrective action plans for adequacy, sustainability, and root cause alignment.
• Validate issue closure packages and remediation evidence.
• Keep current with Information Security best practices and industry trends, communicate these practices to relevant stakeholders.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
