Qualifications

• Prepare 1040 forms for individual income tax returns and file electronically or by mail.
• Identify deductions, credits, or exemptions applicable to the taxpayer.
• Maintain technical tax skills through continuing education and research.
• 1 year of relevant experience in tax return preparation preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Collect and organize tax-related documents and enter data into tax preparation software.
• Communicate directly with clients to answer questions and provide guidance on tax matters.
• Record billable time in billing system to ensure timely client invoicing.
• Prepare tax returns for clients and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws.
• Perform tax research where appropriate.
