Job summary

SHI is seeking a Solutions Architect - SDDC to support post-sales data center automation initiatives. The role involves hands-on deployment of enterprise infrastructure, with design, migration, and integration across VMware VCF, NSX, vSAN, and backup solutions.

The position is remote with a home office setup, reporting across SHI’s professional services teams, and mentoring other consultants on projects and workshops. A strong VMware background is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience.
• 5+ years of experience in solutions architecture or infrastructure.
• 7+ years with VMware products in enterprise environments.
• Strong virtualization, storage, and backup knowledge.
• Willingness to travel occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Perform low-level design and implementation, including architecture analysis and design, system migration, and systems engineering.
• Lead design and implementation of VMware VCF components (9.x) and related automation.
• Provide automation and IaC using SaltStack, Terraform, or Ansible.
• Mentor other consultants, lead projects, and guide pre- and post-sales engagements.
• Collaborate with sales/presales to scope and close professional services opportunities.
• Stay current with industry trends and provide technical leadership.
