Job summary

The Lockwood Group, LLC is seeking a Freelance Scientific Director of Publications (Oncology) to plan, develop, and oversee scientific content for oncology accounts. This remote role supports projects across therapeutic areas with flexible assignments for immediate and future work.

You will lead writing teams, ensure accuracy and adherence to guidelines, and collaborate with clients to deliver publication-ready material across manuscripts, posters, abstracts, and podium presentations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience in medical publications (manuscripts, posters, abstracts, podium presentations, platforms, and publication extenders).
• Proven organizational, analytical, and interpersonal communication skills; able to analyze data, multitask, and manage projects under tight deadlines.
• Experience with AMA style and ethical guidelines (ICMJE, GPP2022) required.
• Oncology experience preferred (CAR-T and/or Multiple Myeloma).

Responsibilities

• Lead execution of content development activities, independently delivering publication materials.
• Supervise Associate Scientific Directors and coordinate with internal and freelance staff on tasks.
• Provide strategic medical communication recommendations to support brand goals.
