Job summary

The American Heart Association is seeking a Science and Medicine Advisor to guide science volunteers and shape scientific statements, guidelines, and educational programs across clinical and research contexts.

Based in our National Center with a Dallas, TX option for on-site work, the role collaborates with domestic and international experts, synthesizes current science for staff and public audiences, and supports mission-critical cardiovascular care initiatives.

Qualifications

• Superior writing & communication skills with a publication history in peer-reviewed journals.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with volunteers, staff, and the public.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, complex projects and meet deadlines.
• Ability to travel overnight approx. 25% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Guide and partner with science volunteers to create scientific statements, advisories, guidelines, and programs.
• Provide consultation and approval on science aspects to internal staff for public and professional materials.
• Review content for Association professional websites and products.
• Synthesize and explain current state of science to lay professionals and internal teams.
