Job summary

SMX is seeking a Mid Level S/4HANA SAP ABAP Developer to support a Government contract’s Greenfield S/4HANA implementation. The role is remote supporting a Washington, DC based customer and requires a Public Trust clearance.

You will translate requirements into technical designs, develop ABAP solutions, and may mentor other developers while promoting maintainable coding practices. DHS clearance and background checks are part of onboarding.

Qualifications

• Experience with SAP Fiori and SAP BTP.
• Proficiency in web services, proxies, and APIs for system integration.
• Technical expertise with ABAP technologies including Reports, RFCs, Forms, OOP, BAPIs, Enhancements, BADIs, User Exits, Customer Exits, and Data Conversions (BDC, LSMW, IDocs, ALE, Workflows).
• Strong debugging and performance tuning of ABAP programs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Public Trust clearance.
• Ability to self-learn new UI technologies with minimal direction.

Responsibilities

• Translate user requirements into Technical Design Specifications and develop ABAP solutions.
• Lead or mentor other developers and promote maintainable development practices.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure alignment with designs.
