The Hartford Area Office of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, part of the U.S. Department of Labor, is seeking a Safety and Occupational Health Specialist. You will join a bargaining unit and work on inspections, investigations, and compliance activities to promote safe workplaces in line with federal standards.

The position is at the GS-12 level with opportunities to engage in planning, outreach, and hazard analysis. Telework is eligible; applications close 2026-10-27.

Formación

• Experience applying safety and occupational health concepts to real-world workplaces.
• Ability to analyze records and data to identify hazards and trends.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA policies, regulations, and programs.

Responsabilidades

• Participates as part of inspection teams and assists in planning/ conducting investigations.
• Audits and documents safety plans and program documentation.
• Assists in outreach activities and responds to inquiries about OSHA requirements.
• Plans for conferences with management, employees, and representatives.
• Assists in conducting limited inspections and evaluating compliance with standards.
