Job summary

SearchApi is a real-time SERP API delivering structured data from 100+ search engines. We seek a Ruby Engineer focused on web scraping, browser automation, and CDP internals.

You will work across the stack to fix parsers, add engines, and build integrations while engaging with customers directly and shipping production‑grade features. We are a bootstrapped, profitable team that values open source, fast iteration, and remote‑first collaboration.

Qualifications

• Experience with browser automation, scraping, and data extraction.
• Strong Ruby and Rails knowledge.
• Proven ability to work across the stack and write clear documentation.

Responsibilities

• Fix broken parsers under time pressure.
• Add new elements to existing search engines.
• Build and ship new search engine integrations.
• Reverse engineer website protections and anti-bot systems.
• Debug browser automation issues including CDP internals.
• Create and improve documentation pages.
• Develop landing pages and admin dashboard features.
• Review PRs and assist testing.
• Talk to customers directly to understand APIs and websites you scrape.
• Rotate on customer support as needed.
• Proactively update customers on progress and deliver what they need.
