Alignerr is seeking a Software Engineer – Ruby (AI Training) for a fully remote hourly contract. You will build backend services in Ruby, review AI-generated Ruby code, and help shape data used to train and evaluate AI coding tools.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in Ruby and backend development in production environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services and APIs using Ruby.
• Review AI-generated Ruby code for correctness, performance, and maintainability.
• Evaluate software engineering scenarios and provide structured, expert-level feedback.
• Help create and validate technical datasets used in AI training and evaluation workflows.
• Collaborate asynchronously with researchers and engineers to improve how AI reasons about code.
• Identify bugs, edge cases, and suboptimal patterns in AI-produced codebases.
