Job summary

NV5 is seeking a full-time Ecological Restoration Engineer (remote) with 2+ years' experience focused on rivers, streams, and wetlands. You'll join a multi-disciplinary design team reporting to the Ecological Restoration Director and work independently from a remote setup.

Responsibilities include hydraulic analyses, AutoCAD Civil 3D design, design surface development, and constructing narratives and specs. Strong writing, field data collection, and collaboration with agencies are essential.

Qualifications

• BS in ecological engineering, civil engineering, or related field.
• 2+ years of work experience; water resources experience preferred.
• Engineer-In-Training with PE within 1 year of hire.
• Experience with hydraulic/hydrologic models, especially HEC-RAS.
• Advanced AutoCAD Civil 3D drafting and surface modeling.
• Field data collection incl. site surveys and vegetation mapping.
• Strong technical writing and remote work capability.
• Independent, detail-oriented with good time management.

Responsibilities

• Support design and analysis of stream, river, and wetland restoration projects.
• Use AutoCAD Civil 3D for design and surface development.
• Perform hydraulic/hydrologic analyses for design and permitting.
• Develop design surfaces and earthwork quantities for estimates.
• Assist permit specialists with environmental impact calculations.
• Prepare design narratives and technical specifications.
• Provide construction oversight and client communications.
• Maintain project schedules and deliverables on time and budget.
• Collaborate with federal, state, and local agencies and clients.
