Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Remote Sr RF Electrical Engineer to act as the electrical SME within a multidisciplinary team. The role involves hands‑on design, design reviews, and troubleshooting, guiding mechanical engineers on electrical integration and ensuring robust, compliant designs.

Responsibilities include developing circuits, PCBs, and test fixtures; applying signal integrity and power analysis; and creating FAT/DVT procedures. Extensive RF, power, and mixed‑signal expertise are required.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of electrical design experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical engineering principles and best practices.
  • Experience with RF/communications.
  • Strong hands‑on troubleshooting skills with basic mechanical aptitude.
  • Proficient with test and measurement equipment (oscilloscopes, network analyzers).
  • Understanding of power, analog, and digital circuits, including RS-232, RS-422, RS-485, Ethernet.

Job Title: REMOTE Sr RF Electrical Engineer

Electrical Engineer acts as the primary electrical subject‑matter expert within a multidisciplinary engineering team. This role is integral to ensuring that electrical considerations are incorporated into product development efforts. The position involves hands‑on work, collaboration with Mechanical Engineers, and maintaining electrical engineering excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary electrical engineering resource for a multidisciplinary engineering team, providing expert input during design discussions, design reviews, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Guide Mechanical Engineers on electrical design considerations to ensure proper integration within electro‑mechanical assemblies.
  • Provide high‑level technical insight to support sound engineering decisions across multiple programs.
  • Review customer and program requirements to determine electrical feasibility, identify risks, and recommend alternative technical approaches.
  • Support quoting and early‑stage design efforts by validating assumptions and identifying potential electrical challenges.
  • Collaborate with engineering leadership and program teams to ensure requirements are clearly understood and aligned with product capabilities.
  • Lead the development of electrical designs, including circuits, PCBs, flex circuits, wiring, and test fixtures.
  • Apply advanced electrical theory such as signal integrity, transmission line behavior, and power analysis to ensure robust and reliable designs.
  • Evaluate existing products and platforms to determine adaptability for new applications or requirements.
  • Ensure electrical requirements are fully integrated into mechanical designs and manufacturing processes.
  • Develop Factory Acceptance Test (FAT), Design Validation Test (DVT), and qualification test procedures that verify customer and program requirements.
  • Support test execution and assist test personnel in troubleshooting and interpreting results using advanced test and measurement equipment.
  • Generate and maintain accurate engineering documentation, including schematics, bills of materials, compliance matrices, and technical reports.
  • Lead research and development activities to enhance existing products or develop new capabilities based on customer needs and emerging technologies.
  • Serve as a technical resource when complex issues arise during design, build, or test phases.
  • Drive root‑cause analysis and corrective actions for complex electrical or system‑level issues.
  • Identify opportunities to improve products, processes, and test methodologies.
  • Provide electrical engineering support to Manufacturing, Quality, Sales, and other internal stakeholders as needed.
  • Support production builds, installation activities, and operational testing to ensure conformance to specifications and applicable standards.
  • Assist in evaluating manufacturing processes and identifying opportunities to improve reliability, quality, or efficiency.
Essential Skills
  • 10+ years of electrical design experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical engineering principles, processes, and best practices.
  • Experience with RF/Communications.
  • Strong hands‑on electrical troubleshooting skills with basic mechanical aptitude.
  • Proficient with test and measurement equipment such as oscilloscopes and network analyzers.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience working in a regulated environment.
  • PCB Design experience.
Work Environment

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Naples, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $77.00/hr.
