Job summary

ElevenLabs is seeking a Research Engineer to lead the development of large-scale web crawling for frontier AI models. You will own crawling systems sourcing data from the open web, tackling extraction, deduplication, recrawl strategies, and politeness at scale.

You’ll design targeted pipelines to find high-value sources across multilingual content and build tooling for researchers to access data quickly and reliably. Strong ML data experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience building and scaling web crawlers or scraping systems for ML training data.
• Strong engineering skills in distributed systems at scale (Kubernetes, queue-based architectures).
• Ability to evaluate quality and coverage of crawled data and build tooling to measure it.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate large-scale distributed crawlers across billions of pages.
• Solve crawling challenges: content extraction, deduplication, recrawl strategies, politeness and rate limiting.
• Design pipelines to locate high-value data sources (audio, video, multilingual content) and create training-ready datasets.
• Create tooling to request, monitor, and explore newly crawled web data.
