Job summary

OpenTrain AI, Inc. is seeking a Renewable Energy Engineer for an AI evaluation role. This fully remote, part-time contract focuses on microgrids, modeling, and asset performance, with flexible hours and USA-based engagement.

You will create expert training data and review AI-generated content for technical accuracy, while working asynchronously with AI research teams. Previous AI experience is not required.

Qualifications

• At least two years in renewable energy engineering, microgrid design, asset performance, or equivalent energy-industry role.
• Background includes microgrid engineering, renewable energy engineering, solar engineering, renewable energy modeling, digital twin engineering, or asset performance management.
• Hands-on experience with HOMER Pro, SAM, or GE Digital Twin.
• Strong written communication, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Create expert training data based on renewable energy engineering practice and daily-use tools.
• Evaluate AI-generated responses for technical accuracy and relevance.
• Give clear feedback to improve how AI systems understand renewable energy workflows and industry practices.
• Apply practical knowledge of renewable energy modeling, microgrid design, and asset performance analysis.
