Job summary

Medix is seeking a part-time, remote Registered Dietitian to provide virtual nutrition counseling, weight management education, and ongoing patient support. The role is a 1099 contractor position with remote work and equipment provided.

The ideal candidate holds a CDR-credentialed RD and is open to newly registered RDs. Availability spans 20–30 hours per week across at least three days, with a mix of morning, afternoon, and evening shifts including one Saturday per month.

Qualifications

• Residency in the U.S.; California residents not eligible.
• Strong motivational interviewing and patient communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide nutrition counseling and weight management education via phone, video, chat, text, and email.
• Support medication management and comorbidities under physician supervision.
• Monitor patients using connected devices and EMR/virtual care platforms.
• Collaborate with physicians and external providers to coordinate patient care.
• Build rapport with diverse populations using motivational interviewing and behavior-change techniques.
• Conduct virtual webinars and maintain timely, accurate documentation.
• Meet established program and performance metrics.
• Schedule includes at least 3 shifts/days per week with varied morning/afternoon/evening times.
• One Saturday shift per month is suggested.

• Registered Dietitian credentialed by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR), open to newly registered dietitians
• Availability for 20-30 hours/week, across at least 3 days.
• Must reside in the U.S.; California residents are not eligible for this 1099 contractor position.
• Strong motivational interviewing and patient communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations.
• Private working space and reliable high-speed internet.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nutrition counseling and weight management education via phone, video, chat, text, and email.
• Support medication management and comorbidities under physician supervision.
• Monitor patients using connected devices such as scales, blood glucose meters, and blood pressure monitors.
• Collaborate with physicians and external providers to coordinate patient care.
• Build rapport with diverse populations using motivational interviewing and behavior-change techniques.
• Conduct virtual webinars and maintain timely, accurate documentation.
• Meet established program and performance metrics.
• At least 3 shifts/days per week; a mix of morning, afternoon, and evening availability is preferred.
• One Saturday shift per month is suggested.
• A typical 20-hour week includes approximately 100-115 members and 30 appointments per week.
• Work is performed remotely using electronic medical record and virtual care platforms.
