Job summary

American Coatings Association is seeking a remote Regional Coordinator to administer the PaintCare program across Maine and Vermont. The role requires extensive in-field work, site recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing collaboration with retailers, local governments, and stakeholders.

You will plan events, coordinate pickup and site materials, and present to groups while traveling within the region and beyond as needed. Salary ranges reflect experience and travel responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Experience with product stewardship programs or related laws and organizations.
• Experience with hazardous waste programs or local HHW collection.
• Familiarity with paint products and their applications.
• Familiarity with retailers, contractors, and property managers.
• Experience with retail operations and communications.
• Public speaking, training, and presentations.
• Ability to work independently from home.
• Willingness to travel extensively within Maine and Vermont; occasional travel to DC or elsewhere.

Responsibilities

• Oversee PaintCare operations within an assigned region and conduct regular in-field visits.
• Provide excellent customer service by building relationships with retailers and partners.
• Identify potential drop-off sites and evaluate suitability for partnerships.
• Set up new drop-off sites, including onboarding, contracting, training, and coordination.
• Plan and facilitate PaintCare-hosted collection and paint giveaway events.
• Process large-volume pickup requests from painting contractors and businesses.
• Order and deliver signage and outreach materials to sites; monitor usage.
• Serve as a visible regional resource and participate in community events.
• Make presentations to groups and attend stakeholder meetings.
• Provide local knowledge to improve engagement and report findings.
• Maintain a database of drop-off sites and generate reports; review invoices; report to program manager.
