Job summary

OpenLiteracy is seeking remote, part-time Reading Tutors to work 1:1 with K–6 students through our online platform. Sessions are 25 minutes, with same students assigned over time to build trust and track growth. No lesson planning required, just effective delivery of the Science of Reading curriculum.

Tutors earn $28/hour and are paid for no-shows, late cancellations, and meetings. Breaks align with typical school-year schedules, with onboarding and ongoing coaching support available.

Qualifications

• Current or valid K-6 teaching certification.
• Experience teaching reading to K-6 students.
• Strong grounding in the Science of Reading: phonics, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension.

Responsibilities

• Tutor 1:1 with students in grades K-6 via online platform.
• Maintain continuity by working with the same students across sessions.
• Deliver explicit instruction while engaging with text to support comprehension.
