Job summary

JobCubby is seeking a QA Automation Engineer to lead the creation of an automation-first QA practice for modern web apps and WordPress environments. You will own testing strategy, build scalable automation, and drive quality across CI/CD pipelines.

The role emphasizes Playwright with JS/TS, API testing, and performance testing, with significant autonomy to establish standards, metrics, and tooling across the org. Fully remote within the United States.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of QA and test automation experience with modern web apps.
• Strong hands-on experience with Playwright or equivalent.
• Proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript for automation frameworks and CI integrations.
• Knowledge of frontend technologies, browser behavior, and API testing.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and GitHub Actions.
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes for test execution.
• Ability to work independently and drive outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end QA strategy including test pyramid, coverage targets, and release gates across web apps and WordPress environments.
• Build and maintain automated testing suites (end-to-end, UI, API) and integrate into CI/CD pipelines.
• Establish test data, environment strategies, and reduce test flakiness.
• Develop performance testing capabilities and establish baselines.
• Promote QA ownership and coach developers on testable code.
• Introduce automation-first workflows and meaningful QA metrics.
• Conduct exploratory testing for UX and edge cases and provide risk assessments.
• Monitor quality metrics and drive improvements across SDLC.
• Deliver foundational QA capabilities within 60–90 days with a clear strategy.
