Job summary

SME Careers is seeking a Python ML Quality Assurance Lead (QAL) for an hourly remote contractor role. You will oversee quality, reproducibility, and trainer performance across AI training projects, reviewing Python code, ML workflows, and model explanations.

You will provide precise written feedback, enforce rubrics, and manage QA workflows across distributed teams while collaborating with the recruiter and domain experts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in CS, ML, data science, statistics, mathematics, engineering, or similar.
• Strong English communication to give clear feedback and follow guidelines.
• 3+ years of professional Python/ML/data science experience.
• Solid understanding of Python basics, data structures, testing, environments, and debugging.
• Solid ML knowledge: supervised/unsupervised learning, evaluation, reproducibility, data leakage prevention.
• Familiarity with common ML tools and libraries listed above.
• Experience leading or supporting remote technical teams is preferred.
• Ability to review AI-generated code and guidance against rubrics.

Responsibilities

• Quality monitoring of Python ML items and providing precise feedback.
• Review ML pipelines, data preprocessing, training workflows, and evaluation logic for correctness and reproducibility.
• Communicate guidelines and updates to remote contributors via Discord or similar.
• Handle questions on Python syntax, data leakage, metrics, and rubric interpretation.
• Help manage activation and follow-ups of remote trainers and reviewers.
• Create and maintain Python ML style guides, FAQs, onboarding materials.
• Lead onboarding calls and contribute to process improvements for QA workflows.
