Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Software Developer (Full Stack with Backend/Python focus) for a remote, six-month contract-to-hire engagement. The role emphasizes Python backend development, API design, data workflows, and integration work across Courseroom, Canvas and related platforms.

You will contribute to full stack efforts with backend emphasis, collaborating with engineering managers, senior developers, and cross-functional partners. Remote work with standard CST hours is supported.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of Python development experience.
• Experience with Python web frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
• Experience building, maintaining, or consuming REST APIs.
• Experience with SQL and relational databases.
• Exposure to frontend frameworks such as React, Vue, or Nuxt.
• Familiarity with Git-based workflows.
• Experience in Agile development teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services in Python with a focus on reliability and performance.
• Design, build, test, and document REST APIs and integrations.
• Collaborate with engineers and PMs to translate requirements into features.
• Write clean, maintainable code and participate in code reviews and testing.
• Support data workflows, queries, and database changes as needed.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
• Triage and troubleshoot production issues across backend and integrations.
