Job summary

Lantana Consulting Group, Inc. seeks a seasoned Business Analyst to support public-health data and interoperability projects.

You will translate client needs into clear requirements and act as the bridge between stakeholders and delivery teams, shaping data flows and governance aligned with PH standards. You will develop artifacts, collaborate on designs, plan tests, and ensure quality across labs, registries, and external partners.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in health informatics, computer science, engineering, information technology, or related field.
  • Minimum of six (6) years of relavant experience serving as a business analyst in technical-centric projects
  • Fluency in public-health surveillance, epidemiology workflows, and STLT public-health operations
  • Ability to analyze and document end-to-end workflows, system integrations, and data flows that support surveillance and reporting use cases
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including proven ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to a nontechnical public audience
  • Collaborative mindset for working across technical delivery teams and public-health stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
  • If required by the project, ability to successfully complete and obtain a federal Position of Public Trust Level 5 background investigation, meet all eligibility criteria, and maintain the required clearance throughout employment

Responsibilities

  • Elicit, document, and manage business and technical requirements through interviews, workshops, and reviews with public-health stakeholders and SMEs
  • Develop requirement artifacts such as business requirements, user stories, process maps, data-flow diagrams, and acceptance criteria
  • Collaborate with technical teams to translate requirements into solution designs, backlog items, and implementation plans
  • Coordinate with SMEs and technical staff for test planning, test scenarios, and user-acceptance testing activities
  • Support analysis of system integrations and data flows across public-health programs, laboratories, registries, and external partners
  • Develop documentation, including SOPs, data dictionaries, user guides, and meeting summaries
  • Contribute to decisions regarding data quality, timeliness, reporting requirements, and reuse across public-health use cases
  • Communicate complex technical topics in clear, accessible language for nontechnical audiences.

Primary Purpose

Supports public-health data and interoperability initiatives by translating client needs and workflows into clear business and technical requirements. Acts as a connector between public-health stakeholders and delivery implementation teams. Contributes to analysis, documentation, and validation activities for solutions that align with public-health standards, data-governance expectations, and operational realities.

A Successful Candidate Will Do The Following

  • Working knowledge of generative AI and agentic research versus other methods of automation
