Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; IIA-AIC designation within 12–18 months; state adjuster license required.
• No prior experience required.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Examines insurance policies and records to determine coverage.
• Interviews, telephones, and/or corresponds with claimants and witnesses.
• Inspects property damage to determine liability and conduct investigations.
• Estimates cost of repair, replacement, or compensation.
• Prepares findings and negotiates settlements with claimants.
• Recommends litigation when settlements cannot be reached.
• Attends litigation hearings.
• Revises reserves in claims files to reflect probable costs.
• Assists in preparing loss experience reports.
