At MapleCraft Engineers, we take on complex civil engineering and construction projects across the United States. With active construction sites and engineering initiatives nationwide, we need a strong, organized, and adaptable Project Engineer to help keep everything on track.

This role is remote, but you'll have the opportunity to travel to project sites as needed. You'll work closely with experienced Project Managers and Superintendents to plan, coordinate, and oversee projects from start to finish. Whether it's budgeting, scheduling, quality control, or working with subcontractors, you'll be at the heart of the action.

What You'll Be Doing

  1. Project Coordination & Planning
    • Work closely with Project Managers and Superintendents to execute construction projects.
    • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets, and timelines.
    • Assist in the procurement of materials, subcontractors, and suppliers to keep projects on track.
    • Ensure that projects meet engineering specifications, budgets, and deadlines.
  2. Client & Team Collaboration
    • Be the go-to person for communication between clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
    • Attend owner meetings, job site walk-throughs, and coordination sessions to ensure everyone is aligned.
    • Work with clients to identify project needs and exceed expectations.
  3. Site Oversight & Problem-Solving
    • Travel to project sites when needed to monitor progress, troubleshoot issues, and support site teams.
    • Ensure that work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to quality standards.
    • Address challenges proactively, finding solutions before they become roadblocks.
  4. Budgeting & Cost Control
    • Assist with estimating, value engineering, and project budgeting.
    • Track and analyze labor, materials, and equipment costs to maintain profitability.
    • Work closely with the team to negotiate contracts and manage subcontractor buyouts.
  5. Documentation & Reporting
    • Handle submittals, RFIs (Requests for Information), change orders, and project closeouts.
    • Maintain detailed project documentation and ensure everything is organized and up to date.
    • Prepare and submit progress reports to stakeholders and clients.

What We are Looking For

  1. Education & Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
    • 0-3 years of experience with a General Contractor or in the field of construction.
    • Experience working with engineering consultants, architects, and subcontractors is a plus.
  2. Technical Skills
    • Strong understanding of construction project planning, budgeting, and scheduling.
    • Familiarity with construction management software (Procore, PlanGrid, Bluebeam, or similar).
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and engineering plans.
    • Basic knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and permitting processes.
  3. Soft Skills & Work Ethic
    • Excellent communication skills; you can coordinate with multiple teams and stakeholders.
    • Detail-oriented and organized; you love keeping projects on track and documentation in order.
    • Self-motivated and adaptable; comfortable working remotely while also traveling to project sites when needed.
    • Problem-solver; you anticipate challenges and tackle them before they escalate.
