Job summary

Native Ways Federation is seeking a Programs Director to lead and advance its programmatic work. The role partners with the Executive Director and team to guide implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement while cultivating relationships with Native-led nonprofits, donors, and communities.

We seek a leader who centers Native voices, advances informed giving, and builds equitable philanthropic practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• 7+ years of professional work experience in nonprofit/philanthropy.
• Experience working with Native-led organizations, Tribal nations, or Native businesses.
• Experience in philanthropy, fundraising, donor engagement, and nonprofit resource development.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build trust with diverse partners.
• Extensive knowledge of Native history and current issues affecting Native communities.
• Experience in program development, implementation, and evaluation.
• Strong project management and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, including grant writing and public presentations.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for Native Ways Federation's programs and initiatives, ensuring alignment with priorities and community needs.
• Lead program implementation, evaluation, data collection, and impact measurement for continuous learning and improvement.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen and expand programs that advance informed giving and support Native-led nonprofits.
