Job summary

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) seeks a Program Officer, Workforce Development to advance economic empowerment across U.S. cities and, at times, Europe. You will oversee strategic initiatives, coordinate with EE teams and partners, and drive data-informed program delivery.

You will lead project planning, develop partnerships, manage funds and ensure timely reporting on grant-funded work. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• University degree in a relevant social science, public administration, community development, business or related field.
• Graduate degree in a related field is an asset.
• Minimum 3–5 years of progressive responsibility in social service or economic development programming in a non-profit context.
• Experience working with workforce development partners (e.g., Workforce Development Boards, American Job Centers) is required.
• Strong communication, teambuilding, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic support on a portfolio of key workforce development initiatives and special projects.
• Lead coordination with internal and external stakeholders to stay abreast of trends and programs in workforce development.
• Serve as project manager to grant-funded workforce development initiatives and ensure timely delivery.
