Job summary

Mazda is seeking a Program Manager for Chemicals and Recycling Compliance to coordinate U.S. regulatory activities related to chemicals management, PFAS, batteries, and extended producer responsibility.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in chemicals, environmental, product stewardship, regulatory compliance, battery lifecycle, recycling, or related field.
• Experience engaging government agencies, trade associations, regulatory processes, or automotive supply chains is preferred.
• Regulatory analysis, technical writing, and compliance documentation skills required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze federal and state laws, regulations, and reporting requirements related to chemicals, PFAS, refrigerants, plastics, batteries, and producer-responsibility programs.
• Assess regulatory applicability, timelines, risks, and impacts across operations, products, and supply chain.
• Interpret complex regulatory requirements and translate them into clear guidance for business stakeholders.
• Communicate regulatory developments and obligations across departments to ensure alignment.
• Coordinate with agencies and cross-functional teams to support implementation activities.
• Develop and maintain compliance processes, reporting calendars, and record-retention practices.
• Support audits, inspections, and regulatory responses with accurate records.
