Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a talented Product Design Intern to craft intuitive web and mobile experiences. You will collaborate with product managers, engineers, and designers to ship user-centric features, wireframes, and prototypes while refining our design system.

You should be pursuing or have completed studies in HCI, Interaction Design, or related fields, with hands-on UI/UX exposure, strong Figma skills, and comfort leveraging AI tools like Claude to boost productivity.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, Graphic Design, or related field
• Some hands-on experience in UI/UX or product design for digital products (internships, coursework, freelance, or personal projects)
• Strong communication skills in English
• Proficiency in Figma for interface design and prototyping
• Demonstrated experience working with Claude or equivalent large language model tools is required; candidates must be comfortable leveraging AI to enhance productivity, research, and communication.
• Familiarity with modern product design trends and basic design principles
• Experience: some design for web or mobile (internships, freelance, coursework, personal projects)
• Craft & Tools: Strong Figma skills for interface design and prototyping; curiosity about testing and validating with users
• User Focus: Passion for accessible, inclusive experiences
• Design Systems: Understanding of scalable UI systems, tokens, and components
• Component Management: Experience creating/updating UI components in Figma
• Adaptability: Comfortable juggling multiple projects and deadlines
• Collaboration: Clear communicator and team player open to feedback
• Technical Bonus: Familiarity with HTML/CSS/React is a plus

Responsibilities

• Design user-friendly features across platforms in collaboration with product managers and engineers
• Create wireframes, visuals, prototypes, and interaction flows balancing clarity, aesthetics, and usability
• Contribute to design system by building/documenting reusable Figma components
• Ensure consistency of design language, patterns, language, and branding across product components
• Participate in user research and testing to inform/refine work
• Present design work and rationale to team/stakeholders and iterate on feedback
• Explore illustration, motion design, and micro-interactions to elevate the experience
