Job summary

ACLU of Pennsylvania invites law students to apply for full-time summer internships in our Legal Department. We seek inquisitive, engaged students with an interest in civil rights litigation.

Interns will draft memoranda, affidavits, and motions; conduct legal and policy research; interview clients and witnesses. The program is hybrid, with two in-person days per week, and interns may choose Pittsburgh or Philadelphia offices.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as a 2L law student.
• Strong interest in civil rights litigation and public interest law.
• Ability to draft legal documents and summarize complex issues.

Responsibilities

• Draft memoranda, affidavits, and motions; conduct legal and policy research; interview clients and witnesses.
• Attend litigation team meetings and, when possible, depositions and court proceedings.
• Support community-led coalition work on criminal justice and immigrants’ rights issues; receive mentorship and timely feedback.
