Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Prior Authorization Pharmacist for a fully remote, entry-level role based out of Charlotte, NC. The position focuses on reviewing Medicare UM requests, including PA, tier exceptions, and formulary considerations with clinical judgment and clear communication.

The role requires a PharmD or BS in Pharmacy, current license, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks. Strong IT skills and familiarity with Word/Excel are preferred.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy.
• Current Pharmacist license in good standing with the State Board of Pharmacy.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects.
• Ability to make independent clinical decisions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct clinical evaluations for coverage determination requests, including PA or other UM programs like quantity limits, step therapy, formulary exceptions, and tier exceptions.
• Consult directly with healthcare providers or members about non-formulary and clinical product coverage issues.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure consistency in decision-making across the pharmacist team.
• Participate in routine and structured touchpoints with management and team members.
• Complete cases efficiently, maintaining a quality score of 95% or higher.
• Demonstrate a strong attendance record and excellent communication skills.
