Job summary

Oracle Health Platform Engineering seeks a Principal Software Developer (IC4) in the United States to lead design and delivery for complex platform services, improve reliability and security posture, and mentor engineers through deep technical contributions.

You will drive architecture decisions, set engineering standards, and collaborate with security/compliance to ensure secure-by-design implementations while aligning roadmaps across teams.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 7+ years of professional software development experience.
• Experience building and operating distributed services in production.
• Strong system design skills, including API design and performance/reliability tradeoffs.
• Ability to drive technical alignment across teams in ambiguous problem spaces.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, design, and implementation for complex platform services.
• Own key technical decisions and drive design reviews for security and performance.
• Establish engineering standards for APIs, tests, deployments, and observability.
• Mentor engineers through design reviews and technical leadership.
• Improve reliability with SLOs/SLIs, capacity planning, and incident analysis.
• Collaborate with Security/Compliance for secure-by-design implementations.
• Align roadmaps and deliver cross-team platform initiatives.
