Job summary

Maximus seeks a Principal DevOps Architect to provide technical leadership across enterprise DevOps, cloud architecture, containerization, software delivery, and automation. This role will establish architecture and engineering best practices, guide complex technology initiatives, and partner with development, cloud, security, and operational teams to deliver scalable and reliable solutions supporting enterprise and government programs.

This is a fully remote position with 15% travel.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of enterprise IT experience with solution architecture, cloud platforms, software development, and delivery leadership preferred.
• Strong full-stack development experience with .NET 4 and .NET 8+.
• Proficient in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and Vue.js.
• Solid SQL Server experience including data modeling, complex queries, and performance tuning.
• Deep knowledge of software architecture, design patterns, and secure software solutions.
• Experience with authentication standards (OIDC, SAML 2.0, JWT).
• Familiarity with AWS services and cloud deployments.
• Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement DevOps and containerization best practices and automation across the enterprise.
• Act as thought leader to align business needs with current industry best practices and solutions.
• Lead DevOps engineering training, promote team competency and excellence.
• Define, develop, and implement the configuration management system supporting the SDLC.
• Manage source code, branching, merging, and mentor junior team members.
• Work with cloud services for installations/upgrades/deployments/containers to enable self-sufficiency.
• Develop automation scripts for build, deployment, and versioning activities.
• Research and resolve complex problems in version control and CI systems.
• Collaborate with developers, testers, and IT staff to automate builds and deployments and CI environments.
• Oversee large, technically complex projects ensuring service delivery excellence.
