Job summary

Lifeway is seeking a Content Editor II to develop and edit preschool curriculum and studies, ensuring theological soundness and alignment with BF&M 2000. You will collaborate with authors and ministry leaders to shape resources for meaningful Bible study experiences.

The role emphasizes deep theological knowledge, strong writing instincts, and a passion for serving the Church, with remote US work and occasional travel to Nashville.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of editorial or content development experience.
• 3+ years of preschool and/or kids ministry related experience.
• Editing expertise across manuscript review, theological accuracy, and instructional design.
• Strong editorial judgment aligned with Scripture and the Baptist Faith & Message 2000.
• Clear written and verbal communication when partnering with authors and teams.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Lives out Lifeway’s mission and values, showing deep commitment to Kingdom work.
• Perform substantive editing to ensure theological accuracy, biblical fidelity, and alignment with BF&M 2000 across all resources.
• Edit nuanced or doctrinally sensitive content with care, improving clarity and instructional flow.
• Create original content and significantly rewrite or adapt submissions, contributing to outlines and product structure.
• Collaborate with Production Editors and designers to ensure high-quality, on-time delivery across formats.
• Build relationships with authors and contributors, providing editorial guidance to sharpen theological clarity.
• Engage with ministry leaders to understand audience needs and inform editorial decisions.
• Conduct targeted research to strengthen biblical, archaeological, theological accuracy.
• Mentor and support other editors on processes and alignment.
• Participate in planning meetings and cross-team discussions to advance goals.
• Limited travel: 2-4 times per year, typically overnight.
