The Ohio State University is seeking a Pre-certification Coordinator I to join the East | Precert and Financial Counseling team. This remote, full-time role coordinates the insurance verification and precertification process for outpatient procedures, admissions, and surgeries to support timely patient care.

You will verify benefits, obtain prior authorizations, predeterminations, PCP referrals, and communicate estimated patient co-pays.

Formación

• High School diploma or GED and 6 months relevant experience in a health care setting, revenue cycle, or customer service.
• Experience with Windows, Excel, and intranet/internet navigation tools; ability to work across multiple databases and software applications.
• Ability to work in a self-directed manner while communicating clearly with health care team.

Responsabilidades

• Coordinate insurance verification and precertification for outpatient procedures, inpatient admissions, outpatient surgeries, and designated services.
• Obtain prior authorizations, pre-approvals, PCP referrals, and predeterminations for electively scheduled admissions and outpatient visits.
• Contact patients/families to gather demographic and insurance information essential to the authorization process and inform patients of expected co-pays.
