Job summary

Eaton's Electrical Services & Systems division seeks a Power Systems Controls Application Engineer. This fully remote role serves the U.S. West Region and develops automation solutions for switchgear, including MicroGrid and BESS applications.

The expected salary ranges from $97,000 to $137,000 with a variable incentive program. The engineer collaborates across sales and field services to craft technical and commercial proposals, estimate costs, and support customers with optimized power system

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical Engineering preferred) or 7+ years related experience.
• Minimum 3 years in electrical industry application engineering, proposal development, project engineering, and programming.
• Must reside within Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington, or Wyoming.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%, primarily within the U.S. West Region.

Responsibilities

• Quote PSC opportunities across the U.S. West by reviewing specs and crafting proposals.
• Develop technical and commercial proposals valued from ~$50k to $2M.
• Provide reporting on negotiations, market trends, and business decisions.
• Maintain pricing for standard applications and integrate into quotation tools.
• Support order entry, project handoff, and technical guidance to engineers.
• Pursue ongoing development in Microgrids, BESS, PV, and generators.
• Work beyond regular hours to meet bid deadlines.
