Job summary

Alignerr is seeking PhD-level Applied Physicists to stress-test and enhance how AI systems reason about the physical world. Your deep domain knowledge will guide models to respect fundamental laws, not just sound correct on the surface.

This fully remote hourly contract offers 10–40 hours per week with flexible scheduling, enabling autonomous work on challenging topics like classical mechanics, electrodynamics, thermodynamics, and quantum considerations.

Qualifications

• PhD in Applied Physics or related field in progress or completed.
• Strong ability to explain complex physical concepts clearly in English.
• Attention to detail and independent work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Design advanced physics problems requiring multi-step reasoning and first-principles thinking.
• Produce rigorous, step-by-step solutions with correct constants and units.
• Audit AI reasoning for physical consistency and boundary conditions.
• Provide expert feedback to improve physics-informed AI models.
• Work independently on asynchronous, task-based assignments.
