Job summary

Backpack Healthcare is seeking a psychiatrist for a part-time telehealth role serving children, teens, and young adults. We offer flexible scheduling and an integrated care team. You will conduct evaluations, develop treatment plans, manage medication, and collaborate with PMHNPs, therapists, schools, and families.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school
• Completed psychiatry residency
• Board certified or board eligible in psychiatry
• Active Georgia medical license and DEA license
• Strong communication skills and genuine comfort working with diverse patient populations
• Bilingual English/Spanish - strongly encouraged
• Experience in outpatient, community mental health, or integrated care settings preferred
• Familiarity with telepsychiatry platforms and EHR systems preferred

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments across the lifespan
• Diagnose and manage ADHD, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma-related conditions, and more
• Develop individualized treatment plans including medication management and therapy recommendations
• Collaborate with therapists, PMHNPs, primary care providers, schools, and families
• Provide crisis intervention and ongoing support as needed
• Participate in team meetings and clinical consultations
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in compliance with HIPAA and Georgia regulations
• Stay current on developments in psychiatric care and evidence-based treatment
