OnPay is seeking a detail-oriented Tax Operations Analyst to join our Tax Operations team. You will ensure accurate, timely payroll tax filings and remittances across federal, state, and local authorities while supporting scalable processing systems.

The role sits at the intersection of tax compliance, finance, and software automation, requiring strong problem-solving, collaboration, and attention to detail in a high-volume environment.

Qualifications

• 2–4+ years of experience in payroll tax processing, tax operations, or multi-state tax compliance (payroll software/FinTech background preferred).
• Strong understanding of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations, deposit schedules, and tax forms.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
• Familiarity with electronic filing formats and tax agency portals (EFTPS, tax centers).
• Proven ability to troubleshoot filing rejects and ledger variances systematically.

Responsabilités

• Prepare, validate, and execute recurring tax filings across federal, state, and local jurisdictions.
• Ensure precise, on-time electronic tax funds transfers and check payments.
• Reconcile core ledger balances against tax liability calculations and client wage data.
• Test and validate payroll software updates related to new tax rates, forms, rules, and filing specifications.
• Help identify filing errors, automate manual reconciliation, and improve file throughput.
• Monitor changes in tax filing schedules, payment rules, and electronic format guidelines.
• Communicate with tax agencies regarding client accounts and compliance matters.
