A staffing and consulting agency is seeking a Contract Payer Enrollment Specialist in New York City. This role involves the accurate submission of enrollment applications for providers and groups across various health plans. Candidates should have at least 2 years of experience in payer enrollment, with a strong understanding of Medicare and Medicaid processes, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a team-oriented setting.
The Contract Payer Enrollment Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely submission of provider and group enrollment applications across multiple health plans on behalf of clients.
This role focuses primarily on application submission, with occasional follow-up or completion of requests as needed. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of both Medicare and Medicaid payer enrollment processes — candidates without experience in either program will not be considered.
This position requires a high degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to pivot quickly in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Prepare and submit provider and group enrollment applications accurately and within established SLAs.
Maintain an in-depth understanding of payer‑specific enrollment requirements, including prerequisites, required forms, completion standards, supporting documentation (e.g., DEA certificates, CVs), and applicable regulations.
Ensure all necessary supporting documentation is accurately maintained in provider profiles, including onboarding documents, application copies, welcome letters, and other related correspondence.
Collaborate closely with internal teams, vendors, and payers to resolve issues or obtain missing documentation.
Manage assigned workloads efficiently while ensuring compliance, accuracy, and timely turnaround.
Proactively flag barriers or issues in enrollment processing and work with leads to identify solutions.
Assist across clients and payer lines as needed, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

2+ years of direct payer enrollment or credentialing experience (required).
Extensive knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid enrollment processes (required).
Strong understanding of provider types, taxonomy codes, NPI management, and revalidations.
Must be able to work cohesively in a team‑oriented environment and foster positive working relationships with others both within and outside the organization.
Demonstrated ability to pivot quickly and adapt to evolving priorities.
Excellent attention to detail, organization, and written communication skills.
Experience with enrollment platforms such as PECOS, Medicaid portals, Availity, and CAQH preferred.
Must be able to multitask while maintaining a high level of accuracy and consistency Startup experience
