Job summary

Community Health Systems is seeking a Virtual Patient Safety Attendant to provide continuous virtual observation of patients and to alert hospital staff to changes in conditions or behaviors that may risk safety.

The role involves using two-way audio to redirect patients, documenting interventions, and collaborating with bedside staff to ensure timely safety responses. Prior CNA/MA experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of acute care experience in a hospital setting preferred.
• 1-2 years experience as a Certification Nurse Assistant/Medical Assistant (CNA/MA) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain continuous observation of up to 16 virtual patients and report unsafe activities or behaviors.
• Notify nursing staff immediately when assistance is needed for timely intervention.
• Use two-way audio software to verbally redirect patients and prevent injuries or hazards.
• Participate in shift hand-offs with detailed reports for oncoming staff.
• Complete documentation for all virtual patients including interventions and communications.
• Communicate promptly with hospital personnel when a patient poses risks to themselves or others.
• Assist in training new staff and conduct competency checks on protocols.
• Adhere to policies on patient safety, privacy, and hospital compliance.
• Engage in ongoing education to stay current with virtual sitter practices and technology.
