Job summary

Saalex is seeking a Junior Systems Developer & Data Analyst to support a DoD-focused program. The role is part-time (≈20 hours/week) and fully remote, with responsibilities spanning web app development in TypeScript/React, Power BI dashboards, data pipelines, and reporting.

Qualifications

Experience building web apps with TypeScript, JavaScript and React.
Experience with the SharePoint Framework.
Hands-on development of Power BI reports and dashboards.
Knowledge of Power Query/M for data manipulation.
Ability to troubleshoot issues and support users.
Ability to understand and maintain existing code and data models.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently in secure DoD IT environments.

Responsibilities

Maintain, enhance, and troubleshoot a SharePoint Framework app built with TS/React.
Develop features, UI components, and supporting data structures.
Use SharePoint Lists as backend data and reporting sources.
Build modules for tracking, contracts, routing, travel approvals, and scheduling.
Create data pipelines, reporting models, and Power BI dashboards.
Integrate multiple data sources into consolidated reports for leadership.
Monitor data refresh and maintain reporting availability.
Design data visualizations and system diagrams.
Handle application administration and user support.
Operate within DoD IT environment constraints and approvals.
Evaluate tools and architectures, suggest improvements.
Review source code, data models, and configs for maintenance.
Resolve issues and implement incremental feature updates.
Maintain well-documented source code and docs.
Communicate changes and data insights to stakeholders.
