Job summary

The New York FarmNet program within Cornell University’s SC Johnson College of Business and Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management seeks part-time Financial Consultants across New York State. This temporary, non-benefits-eligible position offers up to 19 hours per week and an end date of March 31, 2027, with potential renewal.

You will conduct farm financial assessments, prepare financial statements and analyses, evaluate debt and risk, and support clients through consulting methods.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• Significant experience conducting farm financial analysis.
• Willingness to travel within New York State.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct farm business and financial assessments.
• Prepare balance sheets, income statements, cash flow projections, budgets, and analyses.
• Assess debt structure, repayment capacity, financial risk, and business viability.
• Support clients through client-centered consulting.
• Collaborate with Family Consultants in FarmNet's paired-consultant model.
• Maintain timely case documentation.
• Participate in FarmNet training, case review, outreach, and professional development activities.
• Consultants may occasionally be required to travel overnight for training meetings and professional development activities.
